Meeting Report: Concerns Raised Over Member Inactivity

The meeting commenced with an opening prayer led by Ahmed Wasiu, setting the tone for discussions. The President then gave his opening remarks, welcoming members and acknowledging the need for improved participation.

The PRO presented the financial report, stating that last year’s contributions totaled ₦79,100, while only two people have contributed so far this year. He assured members that he would provide an updated list of contributors soon.

Regarding account creation, the PRO suggested nominating a member from within the group to handle the process and promised to provide further updates.

AOB: Key Issues Raised

  1. Project Inclusion: Mr. Rasheed inquired why projects were not being discussed. The Secretary responded that it would be added as an agenda item in the next meeting.
  2. Member Participation:
    • Mr. Lateef raised concerns about engaging those who participate but are not in the group.
    • Olayemi emphasized the need to enforce participation among inactive members.
    • Lateef also called for a full list of inactive executive members, to which Olayemi agreed, stating that many excos were not active.

Several members echoed their frustration over inactivity within the group, leading the meeting to end on a note of concern rather than resolution.

JNI Committee Holds Second meeting Today

The JNI 2012 Reconnect committees holds their Second meeting on the 10th November,2024. The general meeting was held on Whatsapp group to foster engagement among members and encourage payment of annual dues. The session began with an opening prayer led by Abdulrasheed Saliman. During the meeting, members present took the opportunity to greet one another, strengthen connections, and emphasize the importance of supporting each other. The PRO addressed the matter of annual dues, highlighting the importance of timely payments and noting that some members had already fulfilled their commitments. Members were encouraged to make their payments promptly to support group activities. The PRO also mentioned the presence of new members and encouraged everyone to welcome and support them. Finally, Abdulrasheed Olayemi reminded members to check in on each other regularly to maintain the unity and well-being of the group.
