The latest association meeting commenced with an opening prayer by the Chief Imam.
The President welcomed all members, issued an apology for the previous week’s challenges, and reassured attendees that unresolved matters would be addressed. He urged members to actively participate in discussions and congratulated Mr. Abdulraheem on his recent graduation. The General Secretary officially welcomed new members, while the PRO provided a financial update.
Financial Developments and Account Opening The PRO reported significant progress in opening an association account. He confirmed that he had contacted the relevant authorities and shared the necessary requirements with the General Secretary and Chairman. A key prerequisite for account activation is a duly signed constitution, approved by all members and endorsed by both the President and Secretary. The Secretary is currently working on drafting the document. The President stressed the importance of conducting a feasibility study before embarking on any financial ventures to ensure prudent use of capital.
Excoss Meeting Highlights and Development Initiatives During the Excoss meeting, members deliberated on various developmental projects:
- The President proposed launching skill acquisition and enlightenment programs.
- The Imam suggested investing in farm produce for resale and profit.
- The General Secretary recommended establishing a business to provide employment for vulnerable members.
- The PRO reiterated the necessity of approving the constitution for the account opening process.
Business and Project Proposals Several suggestions were put forward to enhance the association’s economic standing:
- Farming Ventures: Yemi, Wasiu, and Ayisha advocated for initiating farming projects.
- Loan System: The PRO proposed a financial loan scheme to assist members.
- Transport Business: Jamiu suggested investing in a transportation venture.
- Skill Development: The President encouraged members to focus on skill acquisition programs.
- Food and Agriculture: The Chairlady emphasized the potential in food and agricultural sectors, recommending structured employment for participants.
- Financial Planning: Ayuba underscored the need for strategic financial management, warning against entering unfamiliar business ventures. He proposed maintaining individual contributions at N2,000 and urged the President to finalize the account setup for seamless financial operations.
Meeting Schedule and Member Contributions The President proposed that meetings be conducted on a monthly basis. He reiterated that the association’s benefits should be shared collectively rather than individually and called upon members to contribute their annual dues to support the organization’s progress.
The meeting concluded with an appeal for active participation and financial contributions to drive the association's growth and development.
